Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Bonaspati Manufacturers Association said in their notification that the price of bottled soybeans has decreased by 5 takas from 179 takas per liter and will now be sold at 174 takas.
The price of open soybeans will also decrease by five rupees per liter. Accordingly, the new price of open soybeans will be Tk 154 per liter. If the price of one liter of soybeans is reduced by Tk 5, the price of 5 liters of bottled soybeans will be reduced by Tk 23. The current price will be reduced from 873 to 850 taka.
Mill owners have taken this decision due to the fall in the price of edible oil in the international market.
But in the past, the price of palm oil was also reduced along with the reduction in the price of soybean oil. This organization of mill owners did not reduce the price of palm oil. The price of open palm oil is Tk 128 per liter. The price of bottled palm oil will also remain unchanged at Tk 148 per liter.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association, an organization of sugar mill owners, has also decided to reduce the price of loose and packaged sugar by five takas per kg. According to a press release on behalf of the organization, this decision has been taken taking into consideration the international market price of raw sugar and the production cost of local refining mills. According to the notification, the price of refined open sugar per kg in the market has been reduced from 135 takas 5 takas to 130 takas. And at the same rate, the price of packaged sugar has been reduced from Tk 140 to Tk 135tk.
